FEAR is a four letter word, and I try to avoid them, they ared usually "bad" words or quick answers that would be better served with a different word. I like to turn words into acronyms by turning the word vertical and coming up with a word for each letter that defines the word.
F-Firm
E-Emotional
A-Adverse
R-Reaction
That pretty much explains why F.E.A.R.S cause so much pain and aggrevation to not only the person that suffers them, but people around that get aggrevated by the illogical behavior of their family members or friend. F.E.A.R.S are very real and overwhelming to those that suffer from them, I am not talking about those, uncomfortable feelings we all have to things like the dark, scary things from our past, negative outcomes, loss. I am speaking of the bone chilling, stop-you-in-your tracks, crying your eyes out, gut wrenching F.E.A.R.S about things that are life altering or at least mind altering because you cannot rationally explain most of it, the adversity is not viewed as bad by others but to you it is the worst thing you can think of and you would prefer to avoid that situation or thing at all cost. Of course the number of these F.E.A.R.S, really make the magnitude of the pain worse, one or two and you are uncomfortable, emotionally strained and less effective than you could be but not completely down and out. Well, as with any issue of life, scripture has a word about fear or F.E.A.R. and it is most helpful when they are at their worst. First of all it defines it simply as dread. That covers everything from being late for something, having someone upset with you, to the big deals of life-marital uncertainty, results from a test, anything that is dreaded fits this resolution. Psalm 27:1 (KJV) The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
Okay, I hear you.. That is great and wonderful but that does not help when "reality is in my face" and life as I know it is about to change. How am I supposed to "feel" better and feel like things are going to be okay? Well, 2 verses down says (Psalm 27:3) Though a host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident. I love this part. The "THIS" is in verse 1. "The Lord is my salvation, and strength".
Also this verse helps too... Romans 8:28,29 And we know all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his pupose. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the first born among many brethen. And he also says in Luke 12:22-31, the part 2 of the solution, And he said unto his disciples, "Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on. The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment. Consider the ravens; for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls? And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit? If ye then be not able to that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest? Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. If then God so clothe the grass, which is to-day in the field, and to-morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will be clothe you, O ye of little faith? And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things. But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Any Care, worry, anxiety you have, take it to the Lord, who is the only one who can truly make you fear not, and ask him for peace and calmness in this time of need. Read your bible, it is like a personal note from the Father. If you do not understand it, seek for help with it, pray for understanding and help will come. If you do need "earthly assistance" remember to seek godly councel, check all information against scripture and if married talk to your spouse.
Prayer is the best conversation, accomplishes the most and will never be used against you or repeat to anyone.
