A Magical Gift from God-- Bubbles.. A light reminder

This does not capture the beauty of the bubbles but if you look really close you can see them at the bottom of the picture floating upward. Use your imagination!!! :)

Have you ever thought about the mystery and power of a bubble? Well, think about it for a minute...

Bubbles are an affordable and plentiful best friend. You can do so much with them and they are magical, in that you cannot be upset or down in the dumps for long when you are around a bubble, they are light, and colorful (if you look close you can see colors like the rainbow when the light flows through them). Bubble baths are a my favorite time with bubbles, but sitting outside and blowing bubbles is also very enjoyable. When we moved to North Carolina, the house we were renting had a big, open backyard with trees at the very edge, we used bubbles to make it fun for Charles, it was something we could not do in our yard in Virginia, so it made him thankful to move here so he could blow bubbles in the backyard. Our landlord even gave him a bottle of bubbles when we picked up the keys. Bubbles have always been a great stress release for me, and yesterday I had and great object lesson with them, seeing God's way and his control is kind of a release instead of a burden or a loss to hurt us, but instead a huge blessing and something quite beautiful. So often we need .... and everything will be fine or we just have to do this.. and things will work out, but really, just like a bubble all we need is the soap solution (Christ) and the air (God). Have you ever made bubbles inside the bottle, or when you were washing dishes?

These bubbles were made by just loading the wand and holding it up to the wind and it made twice as many as when I huffed and puffed on the wand. It made me think about life, dreams and plans, they are carried by the wind too... and who controls the wind? God does, we can huff and puff and do everything we can think of to increase or improve the effectiveness or productivity and it is all up to the Wind, (God's plan), even when you hold the wand in the direction the wind is blowing sometimes the bubbles go in the opposite direction. And it is like magic, sitting in the grass waving your arm, or blowing the bubbles is fun but tiring and loading the wand (obedience or following instructions) and waiting on the wind to blow them wherever it chooses is so much more relaxing and productive. Why work harder for less results when we can let the wind blow through our life, our plans, our family and produce something so majestic as a clear, rainbow (reminder of God's promises) filled, light, temporary image that brings so much joy. A strong consistant breath results in more and bigger bubbles than, short hard blows or wild flapping. We can sit and enjoy the bubbles floating along much more when we pause between them and wait for the wind to make them. When we are huffing and puffing or flapping our arms we miss some of the magic and majestic experience.

It is really hard to be tense, or talk when blowing bubbles (PRAISE!!!) and it can be a good upper body work out if you really put some energy into sending your ideas, worries, dreams, and fears up to God and watch him carry them off, the condition is once you send them up they stay up in the air until God brings it back to you, or brings you something else. You are a little lighter in spirit after you do this and can visual see God "receive" you and your ideas, worries, dreams, fears and plans and get excited to see when the wind is going to come along again and make another beautiful moment.

Try it, it is a quick and easy moment that praises God and His everpresence in the smallest details of our life and you can even do it with the kids. I like to think of 1 peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you, when I am playing with the bubbles.
