Testimony-Witness-What other people think

**Play "The Word Is Alive" (use the > key to scroll down to the title on the playlist player to the right)

These words that are very important in my life and have significant lessons attached. Bible verses that give us the meanings and how Christ discussed these words were drilled into me in Sunday School and at my friends houses and they were the publicly accepted thinking years ago.

Testimony-evidence given about something-usually someone standing up in church and telling how Christ change them, how they were going down a long, dark, lonely path and they finally reached a place where they saw a light and felt a hand.

Believe- Trust in, firm conviction about-the only thing Christ requires of us to receive our salvation, something we need to do for each other-believe in them; this was not intended to be a marker of a weak person, quite the opposite. Effected by the honesty and integrity of the person that provided the witness.

Testify- the act of bearing witness (person who provideds evidence) what is said. Authority of the person can affect the reception that is given.

Wisdom-ability to discern right from wrong. Needed to make good decisions and to handle tough situations.

These things used to be very important and highly valued. My dad used to say, "you can tell people all day long how good you do something, but to have someone speak on your behalf is much more compelling and is given much more consideration. You need to make sure you show what you are about, so others can speak for you, and make your words true".

When I was growing up there was a great song, about getting to heaven and seeing people again and them coming and thanking you for things you did not think anyone noticed, people you did not even know where helped, lead to Christ.

Today these ideals are more joked about and inside of the spoken word being important, today "physical evidence" is demanded and then arguments about it are expressed. People play on the believing, and trusting but, do not care much about the testimony of people, because it comes down to proof, verses appealing to a persons conscience and knowledge of right and wrong. If you still live by these ideals and they are goals and standards you try to achieve you are in the minority. Does that mean they are not important or true anymore. As christians we still testify about Christ and that He is alive and moving among us. We still give our testimony in court and in church, we go out Witnessing. But we also talk about people and people "think" and start rumors about people, that are usually only 1/2 true and in the end cause more damage than good. What changed?

We got away from using the Bible as our guidebook, and looking to Christ's example. We testify that the Bible is living and is just as true today as the day it was scribed on the Papyrus fibers. Well then we should go back to reading, and doing what is written. Trust and obey, walk by faith, pray without ceasing, pray for each other, reproof each other and love one another are very real mandates and if we were doing these our witnesses to the lost would carry more weight.

1 John 5:6-11 really puts everything into perspective:
This is He who came by water and blood-Jesus Christ; not only by water, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is truth. For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness on earth: the Spirit, the Water, and the Blood; and these three agree as one. If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater; for this is the witness of God which He has testified of His Son. He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony, that God has given of His Son. And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His son.

When you look at that passage it makes 3 things crystal clear: 1. God is the Authority all things are under him (people, powers, and even his beloved Son) If christ is for Us who can be against us? 2. Jesus Christ made all things possible, salvation, the Love of the father, and our justification. and 3. Our Testimony is Jesus Christ, nothing before that matters and nothing after that measures more than that. (What a freeing thought... no sin, no earthly struggle is more than the your Witness, Jesus Christ is going to testify to the Father for you. "They believe in me Father, therefore I am in them, that is all God needs to hear. Not that the other evidence that he has will not be presented, but more for a question "With all that you were given and all that I wrote you (THE BIBLE) why were you not a doer of the word"? If we put our minds and hearts to the things Christ was about this, we could give everyone the Word. That is what most of the Bible talks about, Nature testifies everyday that GOD created this world, we still do not know every plant, animal, chemical and can't explain most of our world. The Children of Israel testified to Egypt that God was in control not their gods, even the most powerful Egyptian, Pharoah learned of Gods power and the price of not obeying the True God. Person after person in the Bible, shows God in another way so that everyone can "see" they can believe and receive. What is your Testimony? Who is your witness? Is there enough evidence to convict you of being in Christ (CHRIST-IaN)? You are either serving a LIFE sentence with Christ or without him. The testimony has been given, God created you to be with him, sin came and separated you forever, Christ came was baptised, was crucified and rose again so that you could be redeemed, will you believe and walk in his footsteps to reunited with the Father or will you deny the testimony, provide a rebuttle and live a lifetime without him. You have Freewill and Freedom to do whatever you want, even when you are saved, you just can't enjoy sin because Christ is in you and it breaks his heart, which is your heart. With the internet and local churches in every city and town, receiving you gift is a click away or just down the road. If you seek Him you will find Him. Jeremiah 29:11-12.
