Our First Coffee Break Service in the Refinery at Faith Baptist Church, Youngsville, NC
What would possess Adults over the age of 30 to spend 5 hours with approximately 142 teenagers, listening to loud music?
LOVE!!! One of the teenagers was our son. Our neighbors kids and several of our youth from church and many of them bring school friends and neighbors that do not attend our church. What an awesome ministry.
Our youth department has a room filled with a kitchenette area, a stage, pool table, tv with game console thing, air hockey table, fooseball and ping pong. They have different Christian Rock bands come in twice a month and play. They serve food the kids like, pizza, nachos, coffee, hot chocolate and sodas. It is so cool to see these kids talk about hanging out at church on a Friday night with Chaperones!!! They know adults are coming and they still enjoy being there, hanging out all night. What an awesome way to really get to know these kids and their friends. Spend 5 hours serving them non-nutritious food, scream so they can hear you, and listen to the band with them.
We had such a good time hanging out. I finally got to go out and listen to music on a Friday night!!! It only took 8 years....
